Support for Prime Minister’s Surgical Strike

Support for Prime Minister’s Surgical Strike

Sir,

Since the news of Demonetization of the Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000  broke on the evening of 8th November 2016, the people of the country have become cashless.  They have to struggle to manage every day as no one was taking the demonetized notes. This action has divided the nation into the supporters and the opponents. The Government did a Surgical Strike against corruption to make India a better country.

The major step to demonetize the old notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 has involved the nation’s every citizen to play their pivotal role in the fight back against corruption. Though changes were seen in the every corner of the country where some supported this action, and some became the opponent.  So far, to bring any changes in the nation with the population of 1.252 billion people is something for which, PM Modi was planning a long back.

In this course of action, Government introduced the new notes of Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 500 as the way to fight back of Black money. However, severe effects were seen in the nation where for two days all the ATMs were shut down; the banks worked extra hours to clear out the queue outside the ATMs and the banks. People skipped the work and standing at the bank counter to get the old cash transfer or converted into the new notes or their bank accounts.

This major stroke of the Government includes long-term goals to make a white India. Some of them are:-

  1. Make the corrupt to lose their money
  2. Get everyone to have a bank account
  3. Every citizen in India to be monitored online
  4. Checking of the counterfeit notes
  5. Change the mindset of everyone

However, the Government’s fights to turn the black money into white are on track with the help of the citizens. The consequences are yet to be seen, but 80 percent of the nation’s population has supported the Government action.

Of course its a case of the Blind leading the Blind. I wonder how you say that 80 percent of the nation has ‘supported’ this decision, or is still supporting this gigantic mess. Obviously you haven’t gone without food, and your father or grandfather hasn’t died in line at an ATM, nor have you personally suffered to see your loved one die because a hospital refused to take cash.
Armchair reflections. Go out and stand in a queue for a day and reach an empty ATM or a shut bank, then come back and glorify this mess.
Hello, 80 percent of your nation’s cash is dysfunctional!

It seems you are not updated with the news. So, to tell you, 80 percent of the country’s population has supported this move. Also, you might be right that this is a ‘mess’, but soon effects will be seen everywhere.

@ Kaveri: I would really like to see your reaction to the article ‘Dubious ways to Claim people’s Approval’ published on this very site. And also to several other news items that have appeared on Newsnet One. By what measurement do you claim that ’80 percent’ of the country has supported the move? It may be 90 percent in my estimation, but do you have an accurate database to defend your claim?
Obviously you are a student who doesn’t really bother to read the news, or do you REALLY read and analyse things?
It is clear to one and all that this was a hasty decision to get money to the banks in the guise of ‘fighting black money’. I think almost 95 percent of the people supported this announcement on Day one, but right now, I don’t believe that even 50percent of the citizens are really happy about the way things are going.

In defend of my claim; I would like you to go through the survey of IPSOS, which was conducted in the short term to know the reaction of the people. Where it is very clearly mentioned that 82% of the people had supported this move.
Also, this is a long-term move where results will be seen in the future.

This action of our Prime Minister has resulted hustle and bustle in the whole country. Whether it is market, school, colleges, offices or any place, it has become a matter of discussion. People has faced many problems because of this demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 but this is for the benefit for the whole country. It is done for a big motive and somewhere the result is positive. For the betterment of the whole country and to convert the black money into white money will be achieved soon.

    Dear Kavery
Good article. But this is a revolution not a surgical strike.
    Thanks

I agree with you. But many national newspapers and news channels have called it a Surgical Strike. So, both are right.
