College life is one of the most beautiful, learning, exploring, and skill enhancing phases of life. After completing secondary education one thinks forward for his/her further studies. Students have various options for course selection such as engineering, medical, vocational courses etc . But another most important thing after course selection is college selection . Taking admission in college is the most difficult decision for both parents and their child .
Patents are worried about the future of their child. They try to get the best college for their child’s bright future. Here are some views of parents on college selection.
Neha Kumari, a resident of Boring Road says ‘My daughter Swapnil got very good marks in 12th boards exam. Considering her marks she has decided to take admission in Delhi University. I am very happy and satisfied with my daughter’s decision. I have already googled a lot about the colleges that she short listed like Ramjas, Miranda, and Lady Shri Ram ,t hese are one of the best colleges in India. I also went to various colleges but we did not admit her there because previous year result in English honors was quite poor, and I also felt that college ambiance was not that favorable. “As a parent its my duty to look after my child’s decision so, I did give her various options keeping her choice in mind” she added.
Swapnil always wanted to do English honors, and yes we know she has a good command in English. She even scored highest in English in her boards, I appreciate her decision,” she added. My daughter has finally taken admission in Miranda House. ”
Another parent, Ranjit Ravi Shankar,f ather of Mukesh Kumar said “Mukesh is taking admission in R.P.S College which is near to our house.’I had given him many suggestions for college keeping his health issue in mind but we have decided to admit him there so that we can easily look after him. This college is not so strict about the attendance so Mukesh can concentrate on clearing civil service exam or any other competitive exams, he added .
Mukesh is very much fond of geography, he scored good marks in this subject. ‘I am happy with his decision that he is taking Geography because this subject satisfies him and he can perform well in this subject. Every child has right to select subject as per his/her ability’ ,he added.
Nandini’s mother Neelam Singh, who lives in Sherpur said ” I had advised my daughter to take admission in Chandigarh University but she declined to say that she wanted to explore more about Bihar her hometown. Nandini wants to take admission in St. Xavier’s College as it provides quality education and it is also in Bihar. I am supporting her decision to join this college because it is a reputed missionary college’, she stated’.
She will take Mass Communication because she finds it very interesting and creative. ‘I am happy with her decision because I also feel that this will increase her confidence level and her skills’, she stated.’ I have never forced her for selecting any particular subject because I know that she knows her ability and will choose the field which is good for her ‘,s he added.
