St. Xavier’s Colleges celebrate empowered women on Annual Day

St. Xavier’s college and St. Xavier’s college of Mgmt. & Tech. celebrated its annual day on the theme empowered women, developed nation on 9th and 10th of March. Anuraag Saxena the founder of India pride project was the chief guest on this occasion along with Rekha kumari the Director of State Education Board. The other guests for the occasion were the director of Xavier’s institute of social research Rev. Fr. Dr. Josh Kalapura, principal of Notre Dame Academy Sister Jessy, Director of Kurji Holy Family hospital sister Juile. All the guests were welcomed by the principal of the college Rev. Fr. Dr. T.Nishaant SJ and Rector of the college Rev. Fr. Joseph Thadanaval SJ.

As per the college theme cultural program was carried out by the college students through which they showed the social behavior of people towards women and their status. The special attraction of the show was the Mime Act on women empowerment written by Nihal Kumar Dutta (BMC III) and directed by Sourav Kumar Soni (BMC III) &Nihal Kumar Dutta.

Chief Guest of the event Anuraag Saxena said “ It is very important to give moral education to children along with technical knowledge. Education without moral values is completely useless. Education should be such that creates and enlighted society and spread peace, love and truth among people”.

Rekha Kumari said that the environment of any institute plays a vital role in the formation of the personality of its students, the better the environment is the better students are and St. Xavier’s college is one such college with excellent environment for the students.

One the annual day students were awarded for the excellence in studies in the academic year 2017-18. Apart from this students were awarded with potential for excellence that include excellence in studies, commendable application to study, all round development, service to fellow human beings, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Awardees for this were Janamjay Kr. Singh, Seema Kujur and Shubham Bhargav of BBA III, Ritika Bose of BCP IIIB, Anshu Rebeca Toppo & Chinmay Anand Sahay of BCH III, Akshita Shreya of BA III, Bipul Kuamr of BBE III and Nihal Kr. Dutta & Nishant Kumar of BMC III.

Students were also awarded for being an inspiration for others that includes improvement in studies, spirit of Entrepreneurship and good conduct. Awardees for this were Shubham Prakash, DeepikaTirkey, Anash Anima Mundu & Manoj Kumar of BCA III, AnajaliUikey, Shalini Shah, Sneha Kumari & Aparna Bose of BCP III, Kshitij Raj & Maaz Ali of BBA III, Shivangi &Ayush Raj of BA III, Sonali Gupta of BCH III, Rishabh Kumar BBE III and Kislay Ravi of BMC III.

Addressing to the parents and students Rev. Fr. T. Nishaant SJ said “With every day we try our best for the overall development of our students and will always keep doing that so that when our students move out they set an example in the society”.
