Himalayan Glaciers Melting at Double Speed

Due to the mounting temperature, there is a big threat to Himalayan six hundred glaciers.  A study  claims that the melting speed of the glaciers has doubled.

Loss of Water :According to a research published in the Science Advanceage Journal, between the years of 1975 and 2000, the glacier was decreasing 10 inches per year, but by 20 inches between 2000 and 2016. Due to this about 8 billion tons of water is being wasted. Researchers from the University of Columbia’s Earth Institute researched the 40-year paintings taken from the satellite, based on this.  These pictures were taken by American detective satellites.  They were studied by changing into 3-D module. According to the research interim 1975-2000 and 2000-2016 the temperature of Himalayan regions has increased by 1°C.

This is the picture of 650 glaciers located in India, China, Nepal and Bhutan which are spread from about 2 thousand kilometres west to east.  Scientists say climate change is eating glaciers. The 80 crore population of India, China, Nepal and Bhutan depend on the rivers coming out of the glacier.  These rivers produce irrigation, drinking water and electricity.  If the glacier melts, then many resources will be lost. Melting the glacier creates artificial lakes in high hills.  The breakdown of these increases the risk of floods, causing a threat to the populated population.
