The roar of women’s cricket will now go far

These days women’s team are roaring and getting their recognition in cricket really well. Keeping this in mind, women’s T20 cricket has been confirmed to be in Commonwealth Games at the Birmingham in 2022 which will take place in England from 27th of July to 7th of August 2022. International Cricket Council (ICC) and The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced a joint proposal at the Commonwealth Federation on Tuesday.

This decision has been taken on a global platform to promote and make reach the women’s game globally.

According to the local news, Manu Sawney, the chief executive of the International Cricket Council said that “This is a truly historic moment for Women’s Cricket and for the global cricket community who were united in the support of this bid. Beside this, Sawney added that “Women’s Cricket continues to go from strength to strength and we are delighted and honoured that the Commonwealth Games Association voted to include Women’s T20 Cricket at Birmingham in 2022. ECB chief executive officer Tom Harrison has mentioned “We are delighted that Women’s T20 Cricket will be part of Birmingham in 2022, an event that represents the biggest female and Para-sports programme in Commonwealth Games history.

In this competition eight teams will compete across eight match days. ICC will be responsible for the competition terms and the conduction of cricket, and providing the match officials and to ensure that matches should be played as per the laws of the game. The CGF and Birmingham 2022 will be responsible for the delivery of the common wealth games 2022.

This bid is about strengthening women so that everyone will get to know that women are also into every game and to encourage and inspire the next generation of women and girls to participate more and more into cricket and as well as other games.
