How about a successful career to benefit Children?

You may have head of Bachelor’s Degrees in arts, commerce and science. But what can be more job oriented than a Bachelor of Vocation? This novel stream, duly recognized by the University Grants Commission(UGC) and approved by the by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is offered by the prestigious Tata Institute of Social Sciences(TISS), School of Vocational Education (SVE). TISS is a deemed university.

Bal Sakha, the pioneer in child protection and child rights across Bihar and Jharkhand, in collaboration with TISS, SVE, brings to Bihar two B .Voc courses: Bachelor of Vocation in Early Child Care and Bachelor of Vocation in Child Protection.

The unique thing about the B. Voc programme is that it is a three-in one certification course. A student earns the certificate in the first year, the diploma in the second year, and the degree in the third year. The minimum qualification for the first year is Class 12 or equivalent. ‘The beauty of this system is that there is no ‘drop-out’. A person having attained the first year, may leave with a certificate. If she wants to pick up the next level even five years later, she can do so.

Those with a liking for social work would do well to graduate in a stream that suits their temperament and also get them the required job opportunities.

Graduates and postgraduates in other streams who might want to pick up a certificate or diploma in these two very important areas of social work so that they can have the specific skills to work with say, the Juvenile Justice system, the ICDS programme, the Juvenile Police Unit, the Juvenile reform system, UNICEF and other international development organizations, the CSR units of several multinational organizations that work in the fields of early child education, childcare, or child protection will find this course valuable.bal-sakha

The courses use the semester system, and at present the total costs work out to Rs 7500 per semester inclusive of the examination fee. The examinations are conducted and evaluated by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Admissions are going on till the 31st of July
