Politicians hand in Pradyuman case?

New Delhi: Did politicians put pressure on the police to botch up a child’s murder investigation?

The father of murdered Class II student Pradyuman Thakur has claimed on Wednesday that a Haryana minister tried to stop him from demanding a CBI probe into the September 8 knife attack on his son.

Minister Rao Narbir Singh, who handles public works in the BJP-ruled state, said the allegation was “baseless”.

Varun Thakur’s claim came exactly a week after the CBI accused a Class XI boy of slitting Pradyuman’s throat inside a toilet in Gurgaon’s Ryan International School to get exams and a parent-teacher meeting deferred.

“The minister visited my house a couple of times and asked me not to seek a CBI probe. He said the CBI was overburdened and a probe by the agency would take years,” Thakur told reporters in Gurgaon.

His lawyer Sushil Tekriwal claimed the suspect’s father was close to the minister.

Singh, who claimed he had never met the suspect’s father, said: “I never dissuaded the boy’s family from seeking a CBI probe. I simply suggested to the boy’s father to wait as the police investigation was still not over…. Any attempt to defame me will be dealt with seriously.”

CBI officers suspect the police, who arrested a bus conductor for the murder, botched up the probe under pressure. The agency has cleared the conductor of any role in the murder.

    Ryan

The mystery surrounding the murder of a seven-year-old boy at Gurgaon’s Ryan International School is getting murkier by the day. The Gurgaon Police, in its report, said they have ample evidence against the prime accused bus conductor in the case. On the other hand, the Ryan school management has said it has no role in the horrific crime.

It is a sensitive matter because they lost their child who will never come back so it’s genuine they will demand for enquiries… In my opinion we must support them in their possible demands.
