Orientation day at St. Xavier’s College, Patna

St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology held its two days of orientation program for the freshers of 2019 on 15th and 16th July.  All the students starting a new phase of their life were addressed by the Rector and Principal in the A.P.J Abdul Kalaam Hall.

The students were seated in the Kalaam hall with their guardian and the orientation program started with the Rector, Rev, Joseph Thadanaval addressing the gathering and welcoming the students as a part of St. Xavier’s family.

Then the principal, Rev. T. Nishaant introduced himself to the students and gave a presentation on the Jesuit education institutes in different states of India, the famous alumni of the college and the main aim of the Jesuit education system, i.e. to make well motivated leaders of tomorrow and to build an egalitarian society.  The freshers were introduced to the classrooms where their respective department coordinators and faculty members were introduced to them. Here they were informed about rules and regulations of the college, dress code, attendance system and library rules. The professor talked about the 6 C’s (competence, conscience, commitment, creativity, collaboration, compassion) that form the cornerstone of Jesuit education.

The second day of orientation, the program started with prayer song after which the PU professor, Mr Shankar Dutt addressed the students. He said “Students should participate in co-curricular activities and should maintain balance in their studies”.

After that, a small game show and song performances were organized for the students. Followed by that, it was time for the freshers to showcase their talent by singing, dancing, standup comedy, poems and acting. At last winner of talent hunt announced and BMC was the Grand Winner of talent hunt.

The 1st years were also introduced to different clubs and were invited to join the club of their choice. The students were also taken on a campus tour by the professors and the senior students.
