PATNA: Hey Patna railway travellers. Soon you will not have to get bored waiting for late trains. On September 15, guess what! Patna Junction will have free Wi-Fi facility for passengers, so says Danapur divisional railway manager (DRM) Ramesh Kumar Jha . What’s more, passengers will soon be able to know the exact running status of trains by logging into the railways’ integrated inquiry system. Hopefully, yeah?
Not only Wi-Fi but better place to rest between trains! Seven well-furnished retiring rooms have been constructed by the railways at Karbigahiya end of Patna Junction. All the seven bedrooms are air-conditioned and offer all amenities to passengers. While three AC rooms are ready for occupancy, the four others will be ready in a couple of days.
The Rail Tail Corporation of India Ltd has been assigned the job to install Wi-Fi at Patna Junction under a railway scheme to further improve passenger amenities across India.
The railway administration also plans to install RO (reverse osmosis) water purifiers to make available ‘safer drinking water’ to passengers on every platform of Patna Junction.
Two ambulances will be available round the clock at Patna Junction.
The DRM told a local newspaper that Patna Junction had the problem of water-logging during the rains. This often caused signal failures and delayed trains. Railways has now constructed a proper drainage system at Patna Junction to keep the tracks free from water accumulation and prevent signal failures. An underground sewage line has been constructed, linking the tracks of Patna Junction to the main drainage system.
Happy days for train travellers?
Honestly our railway station is worst place to visit. There you have seen people sleeping in Platforms & stairs due to the small capacity of waiting rooms. If you are thirsty then you have to buy a water bottle because if see the taps provided by our railway maintenance you will not going to have your water from that dirty Tap. Wifi is the new thing which will provide by our railway department. But I have a questions to our railway organization that the seven rooms are enough for a giant number of traveller. They are telling that(The railway administration also plans to install RO (reverse osmosis) water purifiers to make available ‘safer drinking water’ to passengers on every platform of Patna Junction).let see how they going to maintain it. Promises are meant to be broken our govt works on the policy. We always gets big promises by big cannons. Let’s see what happens.

Tapan makes an interesting point. It is easy to announce new facilities. Maintenance is another question.
What about the role of the travellers in ensuring that public property is used properly?
The role of our travellers to use it properly but the fact is in our Bihar we are full of illiterate and educated fools don’t know how to keep their facility keep neat and tidy. why we always say that all foreign country are neat and tidy because all people take care of their society and facility provided by govt.

These are the basic needs of any traveler on a railway station…..so i appreciate Bihar Railway Ministry……….. 🙂
There is no such thing as Bihar railway ministry… Indian Railways is a run by the Centre.
Government promises many things but do a few. . Let’s see what happens. …!!!!
