Patna:, St. Xavier’s Colleges, Digha organised an Open Career Fair on their campus on 13th and 14th February, 2016. The two-day Fair offered a host of recruitment opportunities for students and for companies which co-sponsored and participated in the event. It opened up an avenue for exchange of information and ideas between interested parties.
The sponsors of the event were Nissan and Datsun, Urja Automobiles Pvt. Ltd. while the Co-sponsors were Deep Opticals, Imperial Cars Pvt. Ltd. and IMS Learning.
Twenty two companies took part in the event; with the highest salary package of Rs 4 lakh a year, around 350 students were tested for their skills and abilities, out of which 302 got selected.
Companies which participated at the Fair were Zodiac Force, Bajaj Capital, Reliance Ada, Maruti Suzuki, Vaishali Honda, The Panache, I-Ball, ICICI Prudential, Axis Securities, Yellow Chilly, Herbal Life and Career Shapers.
The Job Fair concluded on 14th February, 2016.
A light cultural programme of songs and dance followed led by Xaverian students.
The motto of the Career Fair was “Building Tomorrow’s Workforce — New Jobs, New Opportunities”. Anural (BBA 3rd year) and Ashish( BCA 3rd year) shared their experience of college life while Mr. Rajeeve (Director Fortuno Group), Mr. Deepak Kumar (GM Zodiac Force), Nishaant Mani (SBI Life Insurance), Mr. Zain (Career Shapers), Sarvesh Gabriel (DSP BlackRock) shared nuggets of valuable advice with the students saying they felt happy to be on the green campus. They also congratulated the students on their communication skills.
The closing ceremony ended on an enthusiastic note as students took to the stage in a dance recital. The HR representatives from different firms spoke supportively of the effort of St. Xavier’s Colleges to support bright future prospects of students.
