Sir
Just this morning ( 9th September) India’s Vice President Muhammad Hamid Ansari came to Patna for gracing the 90th silver jubilee of BCCI (Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries) and had also visited St. Michael’s School to interact with the students. The streets of Bailey Road, Frazer Road, Kurji, Digha- Aashiyana were included in his route.
Except for Bailey Road and Frazer Road, the areas of Kurji and Digha- Aashiyana are covered with garbage, but today they were just worth seeing! The roads were clean, without encroachment, stray cows and dogs, or traffic jam.
It is the first time I got to see the actual width of Kurji and Digha-Aashiyana Road. Otherwise the encroachers occupy half of the road and the traffic jam on these roads are terrible. Private vehicles and the autos are always in a hurry and shouting at each other. Common people suffer always.
But today it has also been proved that if people want to change Patna; they can definitely do it. I am not saying that the street vendors should be rooted out from these roads but an adequate place can be given to them. These sleeping administrators should try to see the reality of Patna and of course without the help of citizens, neither administrators nor police can do anything. So the support of citizens is very important for change in Patna.
And if this cannot be done then I wish that every two days, the President and Vice-Presidents should visit Patna so that our Patna is clean. I am disappointed that Mr. Hamid Ansari did not come through Gosai Tola, Nehru Nagar and Patliputra Colony. Next time he should take a longer route!
Yours truly

Its not that he lives in an ivory tower. He understands pretty well that all this preparations simply smacks of preposterous paraphernalia. It hardly would make any difference even if he is made to see the ground realities. The only noticible difference that is evident resulting out of such profile visits is that the traffic of Patna comes to a standstill for quite some time.
Yes this article is so apt. Actually Mr.Hamid Ansari should have taken longer routes on Patna Visit then only he would have seen the true colours of Patna. He should have seen the areas near A.N. college and near Rajapul where roads are hidden under the heaps of garbage. He should have seen the condition of people living near these areas. The Patna which he saw is just different from what it actually is.
