Human Trafficking is one of the major problems in Bihar. Mostly children, girls and women are the victim of human trafficking. This fuels other problems like child labour, prostitution, forced labour, bonded labour, forced marriage etc.
The traffickers mostly target the people after the natural calamities because this is the time when people lose all their things. These people trap woman-headed families, poor people and also the families in which the number of girls are more. Illiteracy is also one of the important causes for human trafficking.
In India, all are born with some rights which are inalienable, but violation of human rights has been the cause and also the consequence of human trafficking.
Two years ago Times of India reported, almost 4000 children are trafficked every month but the situation has not changed much. Among those many children are still denied of their right to freedom, right to education etc. They are denied of the love and care of their parents. They are denied of their childhood.
Various NGOs and our Government are fighting against it but we citizens also have to be aware of it. We need to spread awareness about human trafficking and most importantly education is one of the important assets for fighting against human trafficking.
