Stand up against cruelty to animals

Stand up against cruelty to animals

Sir,

Children who behave cruelly with animals are at a high risk to commit violence against humans somewhere in the future.

Almost everyday we get to see this situation on the roads. Young boys keep on pelting stones on street dogs, badly injuring them. Moreover, the passers by also ignore the incident and prefer to be speechless spectators.

We get to see the news of the depth of human cruelty in newspapers or television, once in a while but still, no appropriate decisions have been taken by the Government. Recently, a video was out on social media which was the witness of such cruelty that a young man spun and tossed a dog in the air and threw it against the wall.  I, myself have seen such brutal behaviour of people of injuring animals many times. Though I stood against it, but it is not the same when we talk about others. I have seen people ignoring such incidents and walking away silently.

Is this is the country in which we are living, where the animals have no value and they are harmed for no reason?

Although many Animal Welfare Organisations have started working towards the protection of animals, but is it enough? Despite the amendment of The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, not much changes have been observed regarding this matter. So, people should retaliate against creulty and should also know their duties as citizens of India.

The Government should pass such strict rules which are in the favour of animals, especially dogs who are known to be the most loyal to human beings.

Yours Truly,
