Sir,
India is proud to have sports persons like Vikash Krishna and MC Mary Kom, who took India to the next level of championship. Former Asian Games gold medalist Vikash Krishan, an Indian Boxer is going to create history soon as he will be receiving the ‘Best Boxer’ award by the International Boxing Association, during the celebration of 70th anniversary of world’s body on December 20, 2016.
His performance this year was appreciable and mind blowing due to which he received an open letter from the AIBA President, Wu Ching-Kuo. In the letter, he addressed him in recognition of his achievements this year and proposed to present him with the 2016 Pro-Boxing ‘Best Award’.
The 24-year-old Vikash is a two-time Asian gold-medalist, once he made Indian proud with the gold medal in 2010 and another with bronze in 2014. These days he is in New Jersey USA, preparing himself for the next boxing season head.
After losing the opportunity to hit the Olympic medal this year, he is not happy, though it’s a huge honour to get awarded with the AIBP. As a result, he is the first Indian boxer to get such an award and has taken the boxing to the next level.
During this same function, the evergreen boxing champion MC Mary Kom will be awarded the ‘legends Award’ in recognition of her contribution to the sports.
So, India is again thankful to these sports persons for bringing awards to the nation after PV Sindhu hit gold at China Open Series last week.
Yours Truly,
