Sir,
Whatever we see, it doesn’t reflect the reality always. It is so with the reservations (Quota) system in India.
The systems of reservation in India were proclaimed to bring equality among masses for the sake of backward categories (OBC, SC, ST) of our society in different government legislatures or jobs and even in educational institutions.
Even Ambedkar, the Father of The Constitution, wanted this system to end in 10 years.
But in reality, there are many people not only from backward castes but from general categories too, irrespective of their religion are economically backward as poverty does not see a particular caste to attack. I have seen many people around me from the backward categories having a strong economic background and on the other hand, general castes belonging to the level of poor sections of our society.
Moreover, it doesn’t end here. Over the years, we have seen political leaders often exploiting the reservation systems for their own benefits. It is often used as a tool for vote bank politics by fooling innocent backwards. And in result, this infringement caused by political leaders for people to right to choose and vote leads to eradication of our country.
Therefore, in my view, who actually need reservation are the economical backward whom should be given this opportunity and the law should not be confined to caste system but to the economical basis.
Hence, in this way, India will not lag behind in education, economic as well as in employment.
Yours Truly,
