St. Xavier’s College and St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology jointly organised a Poetry Recitation Competition and poster making contest to mark the International Women’s Day which is observed on 8th of March every year by the UN. The theme of the competition was “Women Empowerment”.

The students expressed their ideas through words, painting and sketches. Both events witnessed enthusiastic participation.

The Social Awareness Committee of the college led by Fr. Martin Porus, S.J., Prof. Mala Upadhyay, Prof. Joel D’cruz, Prof. Piyush Sahay, Dr. Marie D’cruz and Dr. Anurag Ambasta, guided the students.
The judges for the event were Fr. Dr. Raymond Cerubin, S.J., Prof. Archan Jha and Sr. Shiny Mathew,SCSC.
In poetry recitation competition, Sony of BA-II stood first, Archana Sahni of B.Com-II came second and thethird position went to Ayushi Mishra of B.Com-I.
In poster making competition, group no. 1 and 9 won the first prize, group no. 8 stood second and group no.12 bagged the third position.
Jisha anchored the programme while Akansha proposed the vote of thanks.
