As the celebration of World Music Day spreads and gets better with each year in the state, Dimapur in Nagaland will experience a noble endeavour this World Music Day on June 21.
Jointly organised by the like-minded individuals from the music industry-Sky Entertainment, The Institute for Music Education and Crescendo Events, the event is targeted at the advantage of under privileged children who have profound inclination towards music but cannot afford to join music schools or receive formal music class, asserted the organisers.
“Through this event we aim to appeal the music schools to at least sponsor some students and give a commitment or pledge to us so that we will be the bridge between the poor students and the music schools” suggested the organisers. Also the organisers informed that on the day of the event there will be a freewill donation and whatever money is collected through the donation will be utilised to prepare the students to pursue music classes.
Music is not just about going to classes but it involves a lot of expenditure. If the collection is satisfactory we will help in purchasing music instruments for the underprivileged students, the organisers promised.
There will be a screening committee to filter the students with coordination with the sponsoring schools and prominent musicians we will select the students’, the organisers elucidated. Therefore to make this year’s ‘World Music Day’ Dimapur endeavour productive, the organisers have appealed the people to ‘safe out some money, come and donate generously on the day’. The musicians lined up for World Music Day in Dimapur will be performing for free. Also the organisers informed that there will be slots available for those musicians interested to participate.
The Gear sponsors for the event are: Sound system, staging, trussing and barricade by Crescendo, Lighting by Shiu Lights, Led Wall by Encore, Generator by A.J. Power and Outdoor lighting by Action Powerline. Any music schools willing to sponsor talented underprivileged students for music class for a year can contact the organisers.
If you are in Dimapur toiday, mark your calendar for June 21 to be a part of World Music Day at State Stadium Dimapur at 6.15 pm.
