Patna (Bihar): St.Xavier’s Colleges celebrated the feast day of St.Ignatius of Loyola was celebrated with much enthusiasm and fervour in the Multi Purpose Hall on 31st July 2017. As a remembrance of St.Ignatius of Loyola, who was born in 1491 in Spain, the entire college came together and made the event a memorable one.
The anchors Aayushi Mishra of B.Com-2 and Ayushman Singh of B.A, Part-2 welcomed everyone present in the hall.
This was followed by the lighting of lamp by the Chief Guest Dr Udaykant Mishra and his wife Mrs.Suniti Mishra, Guest of Honour Sister Usha SCN, Rector, Fr Joseph Thadavanal SJ, Principal Fr Dr T.Nishaant SJ, Faculty members Ms Niharika Kumari and Mr Rohit Cyril.
The garlanding of the statue of St.Ignatius of Loyola, the Founder of the Society of Jesus, was done by the Chief Guest Dr.Uday Kant Mishra and Mrs Suniti Mishra , the Guest of Honour,Sister Usha SCN and Fr Principal Dr T.Nishaant, SJ.
The Principal, Dr.T.Nishaant S.J, welcomed the Chief Guests,Guest of Honour,faculty members and the students present in hall.The distinguished guests were felicitated with floral bouquets. The staff and students felicitated all the Jesuits present with gifts.
A soulful prayer by Shweta and Group was followed by a Dance Drama which was based on the life of St.Ignatius of Loyola. It was performed the students of the students of Magadh University and BMC Part I.
The Chief Guest of the event Mr.Uday Kant Mishra shared his experiences of his college days and motivated the students to excel in their respective courses. Later, the contestants of the Quiz competition were acknowledged and were bestowed with the Certifiicates of Participation by the wife of the Chief Guest, Mrs.Suniti Mishra. The Guest of Honour Sister Usha SCN, the Principal of College of Nursing, Kurji Holy Family Hospital, spoke about this esteemed Institution and the need of value education in one’s Life.
A motivational song by Tanya and group brought the programme to a close. The vote of thanks was proposed by Shrishti Mehta (B.A. Part-3) and the National Anthem put the curtains down.
There was basket ball match between the Part I &II students versus Part III students. The latter won the match.
