This is good news for Bihar students the Patliputra University which was carved out of Magadh University has decided to begin post-graduation departments at the university level as most of the post-graduation departments have gone with Magadh University.
The post-graduate departments will be introduced in all three streams, science, arts and commerce. In science the PG departments will have Mathematics, Physics, Botany, Zoology and Chemistry, while the commerce department will have MCom. In arts, the departments will have Hindi, English, History, Economics, Political Science and Psychology.
The post-graduate departments’ functioning will be different than PG departments being run by respective colleges. The Patliputra University will introduce the postgraduate departments from the next session from July/August as per media reports.
Girish Chandra Choudhary pro-vice-chancellor of Patliputra University said the university administration is planning to start postgraduate departments at the university level. The university has decided to launch PG courses at university level as with bifurcation of Magadh University, most PG departments have shifted with MU.
According to the sources all PG departments there will have 30 seats each while admission in the courses will be carried out by mark basis.
Some of the colleges which functions under Patliputra University are AN College, College of Commerce, Arts and Science, JD Women’s College, Arvind Mahila College and others.
