Patna is all set to experience for the first time an International Standard Cricket Academy, “Anshul Cricket Academy”.
Well known cricketer R.P Singh who had played a number of matches for team India and his bowling helped India to won T20 world cup 2007 will inaugurate this venture at Shiwala, Patna on 29th July.
Anshul cricket academy is planning to have cricket coaching facility for boys and girls on its campus. This is good news for the girls in the city who aspire to become cricketers. It will promote female cricketers and will also break the common stereotype that cricket is a game of boys.
The Academy has 9 pitches for practice so that players could get more time to spend on pitch with Astro-turf pitch, bowling machine, video analysis of players, under light practice and many other things, according to sources. This academy is established under the guidelines of BCA (Bihar Cricket Association).
As per the local news, players will be getting an ‘international’ exposure, visiting Faculty and advisory committee includes international players Aftab Habib, Manjural Islam, Tatenda Taibu.
Ujjawal Sinha a player from Kumar Club Patna says “it is good news for Patna and will bring a new cricket culture. Number of players will get chance for playing in various leagues and tournaments but I have no confidence in it till now as number of clubs came with the big names but there was no result. I have lots of expectations with this academy but I don’t know how far it will be fulfilled.”
