In the month of June, the installation of the CNG kit will start in the petrol vehicles being run in the capital of Bihar. Initially CNG kits will be installed in four-wheeler vehicles and petrol auto. According to Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL), kit manufacturing companies have started contacting the transport department for the approval of the kits.
According to the local news, Chief Engineer of Md. Ghayoor A. Jahari told that four or five major CNG kit makers have approached the companies to set up a CNG kit in Patna. After starting the CNG station in Naubatpur on March, work will be intensified in the direction of setting up the kit. A few companies have also talked about the approval for the kit from the Department of Transportation. The kit manufacturer will open its office in Patna. Representatives of kit maker companies are constantly in contact with the officials of GAIL and Transport Department. At the same time, there is a plan to organize workshops of various automobile companies on behalf of kit manufacturing companies.
According to the information, customers who will install CNG kit will have to do Hydro testing every three years. It will cost fifteen hundred. Washing and treatment will be done in the testing with cleanliness of deposited waste in the CNG cylinder. After the test, approval for running for three years will be available. At the same time if the testing is not done in proper interval, there will be a danger of fire or kits worsening. Also, the transport department will provide guideline about the change in the registration of the kit vehicles.
An official of a kit manufacturer company said that the option of petrol will also be available even after installing CNG kit in petrol auto and four-wheelers. If the fuel is over and CNG pump is not near in the emergency, then petrol can also be used. For this, only switch will need to be changed.
The kits in Patna will also be of the same rate as it is in Delhi. Two types of kits will be installed in vehicles, a normal and second sequential kit. In the four-wheelers, the normal kit will cost 25 to 30 thousand, while for the sequential kits, customers will have to pay 30 to 35 thousand rupees. The cost of putting the kit in auto will be 20 to 25 thousand.
