Bihar is all set for corona vaccination. The Nitish Kumar government is fully prepared for the storage and distribution of the coronavirus vaccine in Bihar. At least 35 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine can be stored at the state’s vaccine storage facility in Patna. The state vaccine store is located at Nalanda Medical College and Hospital in Patna has now been fully prepared for the storage of the corona vaccine. It is the largest facility in the state for vaccine storage in Bihar. It also happens to be one of the largest vaccine storage centers in the country.

According to Dr. Binod Kumar Singh, Medical Superintendent of Nalanda Medical College and Hospital “The state vaccine store at Nalanda Medical College and Hospital is not only the largest in Bihar but one of the largest vaccine stores in the country. Complete preparations have been made for storage of the corona vaccine here. The state vaccine store has a capacity to store about 35 lac corona vaccines dose,” along with this Dr Singh also said that whenever coronavirus vaccine will reach Patna airport, it will be transported to the state vaccine store in freezer vans where it will be stored. Thereafter, vaccine will be sent to various districts in freezer van from the state vaccine store.

The state vaccine store is equipped with 5 walk-in-cooler which can maintain temperature from 2 degree to 8 degree. Each walk-in-cooler has a capacity to store 2.5-3 lakh vaccine doses. The facility also has 3 walk-in-freezer which can maintain temperature from 0 degree to minus (-) 20 degree Celsius. Each walk-in-freezer has capacity to store 1.5 lakh vaccine doses. The Centre has also provided ice-lined refrigerators to various state governments to install them at various blocks of different districts. Each ice-lined refrigerator has a capacity to store 10 thousand vaccine doses.

So the Bihar state is ready for vaccination process and the storage capacity is also enough to storage a huge amount of vaccines. Nalanda medical college and hospital is the place where the storage of vaccine will be done. The vaccine will reach Bihar soon and the distribution will also start as soon as possible. The vaccines will be provided to the frontliners first as per the decision made by the government.
