Sir,
It is distressing to note that another two Catholic priests killed in Nigeria over the weekend, one in Kaduna and other in Edo, states of Nigeria.
Fr. Vitus Borogo, was serving in the Archdiocese of Kaduna, was killed on June 25 “at Prison Farm, Kujama, along Kaduna-Kachia Road, after a raid on the farm by bandits,” the chancellor of the Kaduna archdiocese said in a statement shared with ACI Africa.
The 50 year old priest was the Catholic chaplain at Kaduna State Polytechnic as well as the Chairman of the Nigerian Catholic Diocesan Priests Association (NCDPA), Kaduna.
In Edo state, Fr. Christopher Odia was kidnapped from his rectory at St. Michael Catholic Church, Ikabigbo, Uzairue, around 6:30 am June 26. He was killed by his abductors, the Diocese of Auchi has announced.
The 41 years old priest was serving the people of jattu, as the administrator of St. Michael’s and principal of St. Philip Catholic Secondary School.
It was reported that “a Mass server and a local vigilante who followed the abductors were shot and killed during Fr. Odia’s kidnapping.” In a Nigerian daily, The Sun.
The numbers of the Christians killed in Nigeria was at least 4650 in 2021 and nearly 900 in just the first three months of 2022, which is making it very unsafe place for Christians.
More Christians are killed in Nigeria than in any other country worldwide.
On 5th June. Terrorists attacked the church with guns and dynamite during a Sunday mass gathering and killed about 40 innocent Christians, and 80 were injured.
Terrorism and hatred in the name of religion is an evil that seems to be spreading all over the world.

With the innuendo, the massive killing of innocent Christians in Nigeria has set a clueless example for the sake of religion. The news reported that in the year 2021 almost 4650 Christians were killed and in 2022 around 900 have been killed in Nigeria.
Another two Catholic priests have been killed in Nigeria, one in Kaduna and the other one in Edo states of Nigeria recently.
My perspective symbolises that why there is so much hatred and fallacy towards religion?. Why people are insensitive and why they thwart still towards any religion and caste? Why there is no acceptance of people connate from another religion?
Perhaps these poignant and malevolent thoughts doesn’t only create hatred or grief but it’s like disrespecting the god in the name of religion.
