Madonna: Role Model for Women

Madonna: Role Model for Women

Sir,

Madonna Lousie Ciccone is an American singer, song writer, actress and business woman. Madonna was previously known for reinventing both her music and image, and for maintaining her autonomy with the recording industry, but her recent speech has made her a role model for the women all over the world.

Madonna was honoured as the Women of the Year in 2016 by the Billboard’s Women in Music. She, unsurprisingly, stole the show the moment she took the stage. During her speech, she was fully ferocious, funny and brutally honest. We knew that Madonna was a global icon in the music background but the harsh truth which she shared from her personal life was really a matter to be thought on. She shared an incident of 1979, where at the head of gunpoint, she was raped on a roof top. She said that the society is still the same what it was 50 years ago. Still, it is the girl who has to suffer and fight with the people after cases like rape and sexual harassment. Madonna proved that the self-belief and self- respect is the only weapon that a woman has.

She said that though people criticized her after the incident but she still wants to thank those people because it was their criticism that gave her the strength to fight with her problems and helped her reach where she is.

There are many girls or women who think that once they are sexually abused their life is over but we think Madonna has set a fabulous example before them. After hearing or reading about her we think that the women today will get strength and courage to face and fight with their problems. They should never give up and should struggle for their life. If Madonna can why can’t we?

Madonna gave a long speech but the few words which we thought that is even the truth today – “there is no rule if you are a boy but there is a rule if you are a girl.”

Yours’ truly
