INDIA OFF TO RIO OLYMPICS

Sir,

India is all ready for the 2016 Summer Olympics, which is going to start in two days, from 5th – 21st August, at Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. We wish them ‘Best of luck’ and hope India brings home a rich haul. India is sending its largest number of contingent this year and they have been in practice for many months and years. Team India have checked into the Olympics Games village with their respective participants, such as Rohan Bopanna, who is representing India in both men’s doubles and mixed doubles in tennis.

Also, Narsingh Yadav is back in the ring, exonerated of doping charges and will be representing India in wrestling. As both men and women hockey team has prepared themselves with great efforts for the Rio Olympics. Thus, before leaving for the Rio Olympics sportspersons received a warm send-off ceremony organized at Manekshwa Centre, New Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted individually and wished them luck to bring as many medals to home, also encouraged them to perform their best in the world’s biggest sporting arena. The sportsperson took selfies and autographs’, and showed their zest and excitement for the Rio Olympics 2016.
