A Sutra for Peace

A Sutra for Peace

The intolerance and violence has become a huge crisis in the sub continent. The killing of people in the name of religion is damaging the integrated strength and harmony. Be it in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka or India, certain vested interests are using religion as an excuse to inflict harm on minority communities.
Certain groups are striving to maintain the harmony within society. The Tyagarchana Shanti Mission organised Vishwa Shanti Sansad, the Intereligious Parliament for Peace and Sustainable Development in St. Xavier’s School Auditorium, Patna.

Vishwa Shanti Sansad

Tyagarchana Shanti Mission is an interreligious mission for peace and sustainable development on earth. TSM was founded by Swami Sachidanad Bharathi in 2014.
To promote the interreligious harmony and cooperation for a culture of peace and sustainable development the meeting was addressed by the religious leaders. Religious leaders have five-point interreligious programme as Panch Sutra that is being promoted by Tyagarchana Shanti Mission:
Prarthana Sutra (Prayer): This programme involves praying daily for the peace and prosperity of India and for the success of the second freedom struggle according to one’s own religious traditions and in one’s own place and time.
Padhai Sutra (Study): this programme involves regular study of scriptures, inspirational books, and literature related to Second Freedom Struggle. We need to read good books to experience and promote positive thinking, peace and inner harmony. A minimum of 30 minutes a day needs to be devoted for this purpose.
Safai Sutra (Cleanliness): This involves keeping one’s body, mind, cloth, home and surroundings clean to experience health, peace and happiness. Purity of heart is cleanliness at its best. Cleanliness is next to Godliness.
Seva Sutra (Service): This programme involves rendering selfless ad grateful service to parents and teachers and to poor and to needy fellow human beings with love. Such loving services rendered to them become devotional services to God.
Prem Sutra (Love): This involves saying and doing things always with love so as to become divine love and peace in India through Second Freedom Struggle and Integral Revolution. Love leads to harmony and peace. True love is always enduring, forgiving and self-giving.

A campaign termed as ‘ Khushal Bachpan Abhiyan’ is being launched. India today accounts for the largest number of children suffering from malnutrition and illiteracy in the world. More than 20 million children in India go to bed hungry everyday due to poverty. 6000 children in India die every day due to sickness caused by malnutrition. Children do not constitute any ‘vote bank’. Hence, no power-crazy political party in India today takes any interest in their health and happiness.
The Second Freedom Struggle an Integral Revolution needs great sacrifices which come only from mothers with great love. A national network of TMBs (Tyagarchana Matri Bhawans) across India will enable the lady members of TSM to eliminate the widespread hunger, malnutrition and illiteracy being suffered by millions of poor children in India today.
