She had hired the tourist guide from an agency suggested by the hotel authorities. The guide showed her around the city. One day, while she was in her room, the guide offered to discuss a route plan and arrived at the hotel along with four of his friends. They went up to her room and had a few drinks together, following which the guide forced him on her. The friends then took turns to rape her as well.
The woman said she did not approach police in India as she was scared. But after reaching home, she told her parents about the incident, and they encouraged her to file a complaint, police sources said.
Delhi Police has contacted the US embassy, asking them to provide the details of the woman and the purpose of her visit. An officer has been assigned to act as liaison with the woman and her lawyer.
She approaches an NGO on India affairs and takes up the matter. The members of the NGO advised the woman to register a complaint through an email to the police commissioner. After the cops had received the email, the case was transferred to Connaught place police station.
A special police team has been formed and a hunt is on for the tourist guide. Another team is trying to get more details from the woman.
This is 21st century and still girls cannot live freely and we Indians always recite a slogan “Atithi Devo Bhav” where are those person who follow it. Where is the respect for girls and treat them as your mother, sister and friend?
The question is if we cannot respect the sister and mother of ours how can be respect others?
