In a heartbreaking incident, a 13-year-old a tribal girl, student of Bijoykumar Higher Secondary School in Agartala, allegedly committed suicide in her hostel room at Suparibagan. The young girl was staying at the Anangamohini Scheduled Tribes (ST) girl’s hostel, which is run by the state government. Officials responded quickly to the tragedy, with Tripura Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma promising an in-depth inquiry.

This terrible discovery was made at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday by one of the girl’s roommates, who quickly contacted others and the hostel’s in-charge. The incident was immediately reported to police at the West Agartala women’s police station by the hostel’s management. As word of the young girl’s death spread, it placed an atmosphere of sadness over the town and raised questions about the incident that led to her death.

During the post-mortem examination, a senior police officer from the Agartala police headquarters stated, “Post-mortem is underway.” We won’t be able to say anything until we have the post-mortem report.” The examination results are highly expected since they might put light on the events surrounding the girl’s dreadful decision.

Bikash Debbarma, the Tripura Tribal Welfare Minister, visited the hostel to look into the situation and assured those involved that an in-depth investigation will be performed. The minister expressed condolences to the grieving family, stating, “The reason for her taking this drastic step is not yet known.” Her relatives were informed.” The minister’s visit shows the government’s commitment to conducting an open and transparent investigation into the problem.

In charge of the hostel Bandana Sarkar added a point of view, saying that the girl showed no signs of sadness during her stay at the hostel. She suggested however, that the girl’s mother’s claimed elopement with someone else two or three months earlier may have impacted to the girl’s state of mind. The incident occurred during the girls’ dinner, which gives an extra measure of sadness to the tragedy. As the community mourns the loss of a young life, there is a general belief that the investigation will throw light on the causes that contributed to this tragic event.
